NO MORE ADOPTIONS!!!

This page is dedicated to my raised daughter, Faith, and my husband, Scott, who supported me through my search for the daughter I relinquished to adoption in 1967 and reunion with that daughter in 1996. Losing my birthdaughter left a hole in my heart and soul. I was forced by my parents, the birthfather and society to give up my child.

My Search and Reunion

NO MORE ADOPTIONS!!!

I began my search for my birthdaughter on July 7, 1996, found her on September 12, 1996 and contacted her on September 14, 1996. We met for the first time on October 4, 1996. We had one meeting, a couple of phone calls and then in January 1998 she gave birth to my first granddaughter.

On May 31, 1998, she emailed me and told me she wanted no further contact with me and believed her adoptive mother gave birth to her. I have lost her twice.

One of the things I needed to tell my birthdaughter when I found her was that she is a Native American. She is Cherokee from me and Cherokee/Hopi from her birthfather. She not only needed to know who she was, but to know the pride of her Cherokee heritage.

Adoption is a horrible thing. It not only tortures the birthmother, but causes enormous problems for the adoptee.

A mother and her child should remain together. They should never be separated!

There should be NO MORE ADOPTIONS !!!

Since 1997, I have been the list owner/moderator of an email support group for birthmothers.
